'Te Mura Candlemakers'
Steve studied printmaking and illustration at Southend-on-Sea School of Art and design in Essex, England from 1976-1981. He gained Advanced Level Qualifications in Art and Design and a National Diploma in printmaking and illustration.
He then took a sabbatical to the Scottish borders where he met Ken Parsons, a world-renowned and award winning designer and manufacturer of hand crafted candles and wax and resin products. Taking up a postion as apprentice candlemaker Steve worked and trained under Ken for a period of 10 years gaining unique candle making skills. After meeting Jane, who was on a working holiday in Scotland, they married and returned to New Zealand where Steve became a New Zealand citizen.
Te Mura Candlemakers was formed in 2001.
