Born: Whangarei, 1949.
Educated at Whangarei Boys High School.
Joined NZ Herald art department in 1967, at the same time studying art history and theory at Auckland University and practical graphic art at Auckland Technical Institute (now AUT).
Contributed cartoons to Auckland University student newspaper and capping magazine in the early '70s, and exhibited paintings, drawings and sculpture.
Started concentrating on graphic-narrative work in the late '70s. Contributed to, and later co-edited, 'Strips' comix magazine.
In 1987, became NZ Herald daily editorial cartoonist till 1996, then weekly till 2000.
Graphic-narrative work and political cartoons published and exhibited in New Zealand and overseas.
Currently freelancing from Whangarei studio.
